Ashar moved to Pocatello, Idaho from South Africa in 2010 to join Team Revolution. Coach Justen was instrumental in helping Ashar secure USA Status from the FIG to represent The United States in International Competitions. Ashar was born in Texas, but grew up in South Africa. He was a member of the South African National Team and also competed in the 2007 World Championships and the 2008 World Games Test Event. Ashar retired from Team Revolution in 2011 after placing 3rd in the Junior Division at the USA National Championships.
